Re: Cheese Slice Thickness Policy Update
Effective immediately, the standard cheese slice is redefined from “a slice” to “a governed unit of melt.” Physical thickness is unchanged. Documentation thickness has tripled.
Key changes
- Slices thinner than policy are classified as “lean-forward dairy” and no longer an incident.
- Slices thicker than policy must be logged as an unplanned value-add.
- Double cheese now requires a business case, a sponsor, and a second slice.
- All slices remain square. Round slices are under review and are not to be discussed in standups.
Questions may be routed to the Dairy Governance swim lane. Responses will be grounded in this memo and nothing else.
